Old Blog 22: I got world cup fever!

I’m not that a football freak. I mean I love playing football but I’m not mad for football. I don’t see International football matches and club footballs leagues. I don’t keep news about football leagues.  But sometime I just want to know what’s happening in leagues. For that I don’t have to go any sites, news papers or magazines. I simply go to some of my friends. They are so much in love with football. They never misses any matches or news about football. So when I go to them about updates, I get all of it with analysis. 🙂

Now FIFA World Cup 2010 is going on. They say it is the ” greatest show on earth”. Whole world is shaking in football fever and people are so excited about it. I think people in Bangladesh are more excited than people of any country who are playing in World Cup. They are putting flags in almost everywhere. I never saw people placed that much flag of our own country.  People are getting violent and come out with procession if there is a power cut while their favorite team is playing. Those who are not excited for football gets excited in World Cup. I’m one of them. Others’ excitement touched and made me excited.

I’m supporting Argentina and Spain for this world cup. Except one, all my best friends supports Argentina. By winning first 2 matches, Argentina ensured that they are going to 2nd round. So the third match became just a formalities for them. Though the match was important because if Argentina wins the match they will be the group champion.  So my friend Murad made a plan that we best friends will watch the 3rd match together.  So after class Sifat & I went to Murad’s home. Though Abid was with us but he left us for some reason. Later Leu joined us. Till the match begin, we had some usual  fun. By the time match was started, I was felling sleepy. But I couldn’t sleep because of the match and my friends. They kept me awake every moment. When Argentina scored first goal, we all cried in excitement and i couldn’t feel the sleepiness anymore. We were so into the match that we forgot that murad’s parents were sleeping very next room. We kept making noise till Argentina won by 2-0 goal. And Greece played well too. They tried their level best to win the match. If they could win the match, they would become the group runners-up and get the ticket to 2nd round. But they are out of the tournament as they stood 3rd in the group.

As they match ended, Murad proposed to play monopoly as we did in our tour to Sylhet. On our last night of Sylhet tour, we played monopoly whole night and didn’t sleep till noon when we were traveling back to Dhaka by train. So we agreed to play monopoly and our friend Sifat made some rule to end the game quickly. But it appeared that his rules weren’t effective because the game lasted tilll 7 o’ clock in the morning. Game was actually unfinished. With Leu & Sifat’s mutually agreed to finish the game and consider it as draw.

Nothing important happened after that. We slept for a while and left Murad’s place at 10 o’ clock. by 1:30 pm was at home. After having my launch, I went for sleeping. I woke up at 7pm and went to sleep at 11. I woke up again  at 8 am. That means for not having 7 hour sleep, I slept 16 hours and missed 2 world cup matches. Murad called me last night and told me that he was feeling the same way as I was. That night was really awesome. It could have been batter if Abid was with us.

 

Old Blog 9 : New Soccer Season

Last time me and my friends played soccer was 8 month ago. That is when our friend Leu broke his left arm in a road accident. He was our key striker. After his accident all player become demotivated and almost stopped playing soccer. Nevertheless we all had love for Soccer because everyone asked me to organize another soccer match. I tried several times but there weren’t enough players to play. Day before yesterday, my friend Imran called for a match but same thing happened. but I asked Imran to call for the match next day so that i can inform others. And so I did. About 10 players responded for the match and 7 appeared in the field for the match. We took 2 more players from the field and got divided in two team. We played for more than 2 hours. Though my team got defeated by 6-1, I’m delighted because Soccer is back. We decided to play soccer each Thursday as everyone is free on that day. but if any unavoidable circumstances occurs, match will be held on Saturday. We all agreed with this plan. So from next Saturday we are starting New Soccer Season. And I’m pretty sure that next match full team will be in field. I’m too much excited about it. And now my whole body hurts as I played soccer after 8 months. I think my body missed soccer too…. 😛 😛 . I don’t know whether I’ll be able to get in class just in time as tonight I’ll have a deep sleep I’ll be late to move out in the morning. So gotta go now…..

Whom are you betting on tonight?

 

Tonight is the big night. Tonight is the closing of month-long “greatest show on earth”. Tonight is the final of the FIFA World Cup 2010. Closing ceremony in now just few moment away.

Month long football show will end with the final match. Tonight the final match will give us a new champion. Champion of FIFA world cup 2010. Best two team of this world cup Spain and Netherlands will fight each other for their first world cup. Netherlands have the experience of playing final but spain is playing final for the very first time. Both of the team is on form. It’s really hard to predict who is going to win. On matter who wins, the match will be interesting. Because the winner will be the 8th county who have won the cup. 7 country won the last 18 world cup. Brazil 5 times, Italy 4 times, Germany 3 times, Argentina and Uruguay 2 times and England and France have won one time only. So the winner of the great tournament will have the honour to be the part of history as the new champion and winner of 19th world cup. So who is going to be the winner. Amazing predictor octopus paul have predicted that spain is going to be the winner. Another octopus paulin from Netherlands have predicted that it’s going to be Netherlands. A parrot from Singapore also thinks that Netherlands is going to be the owner. I think spain will be the winner. Who do you think will be the winner? Whom are you betting on tonight?

 

Fall of mighty Brazil

At last, mighty Brazil has fallen. Last night in their match with Netherlands, they got defeated. And their dream of Hexa shredded with their defeat. But the match was too good. Till first half I was impressed with Brazilian football. They had the match under control.  Their movement, ball control everything was nice. But in 2^nd half when Holland came back in the match and created a pressure on Brazilians, Brazil couldn’t handle the pressure. Instead of playing their natural game they started to play with their muscle. They committed foul one after one.

On the other hand, from the start Holland played a very good match. They played the match keeping their head cool. Though Brazil created a pressure at first half by scoring a goal, Duchess took the pressure under control. And that’s how they were able to come back in the match in 2^nd half. But duchess also committed some unnecessary fouls.

Both Brazil and Holland played well. But luck was in favor of Holland. This is the rule of game. One team will gain victory over another. So Holland wins and Brazil has to go out of the tournament. I’m feeling sorry for the Brazilians. They deserve to go furthermore. Also expressing my sympathy to Brazilian people (not to Brazilian fans) because football is their life, football is their everything. Apart from Samba dance, they are known to the world is because of football. It’s really a shocking moment for the Brazilian people.

Also I’m feeling happy as Brazil looses. It’s not because I’m supporting Argentina, it’s because the Brazilian fans around me. Especially fans near my house. They play waka waka, oh Africa, weaving flag & Brazilian anthem in high volume in Brazil’s every match. Even I can’t sleep for their shout in mid night. But as Brazil got defeated in last match, they were surprisingly quiet. I didn’t hear a single sound of music or their shout.

There is another reason I’m happy. Brazil won the world cup five times. It’s a really great. But I saw some fans supporting Brazil just because of it. I just want to say, Support Brazil because they plays really good but not because they won 5 times. History doesn’t help you in match. What helps is how well you can play.

So tonight is my favorite team Argentina’s match. Tonight they will face giant team Germany. Don’t know what will be the result but as a football fan I want a nice game from both of the team. Not the muscle game but a good strategic match. So what will I do if Argentina got defeated? Well, I didn’t put too much expectation from Argentina. I just want them to play nice and play their usual game. I just like how they play. No matter what happens, I’ll be still supporting Argentina. I don’t care about statistics, I don’t care about history, I don’t care about 24 year cycle, I don’t care about what people predicts. I care about a nice football from Argentina. I don’t want to see them playing with their muscle. I want to see them playing with their natural instinct. And hope they will do it and win the match.

Test post and football match

WordPress have some nice features. One of this is email post. I can post my blog via email. So i found that i can post right from my cell phone. To test this wordpress feature i’m sending this post as an email from my cell phone. I need to find out if this features really works. If it does i’ll be able to write my blog from anywhere.

I could have tested this feature later but i’m doing right now. I was watching brazil vs holland match untill it was half time. Brazil is leading the match by 1 goal. I was waiting for 2nd half and then I got a power cut. So i thought i could use the time by testing wordpress’s match. Wow holland just scored a goal. Wow got my power back. Got to go. Stay with me guys……
